ARCO Companies in Richmond Heights, MO is seeking a Structural Engineering Intern to support our structural team on projects nationwide. You will work onsite under a mentor, assisting with preliminary and structural design and drafting tasks.

This internship offers hands-on experience in calculations, coordination with project teams, and opportunities for growth, with a competitive hourly rate, housing stipend eligibility, tuition reimbursement, and a clear path to future full-time roles.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in Bachelor's program in Structural or Civil Engineering or related field.
• Minimum GPA 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
• Ability to commit to 40 hours per week.
• Internship or co-op experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing preliminary and structural building design for projects across the country.
• Help to produce structural calculations for implementation with design/drafting staff during construction documents.
• Coordinate with project managers, architect, civil/mechanical teams and clients to find solutions.
• Work with a mentor to review design drawings and propose cost-saving alternatives.

Richard Adams Engineers & Consultants (RAE) is a full-service structural engineering firm established in 1993. RAE offers a full-range of professional engineering services, including project planning and feasibility studies, conceptual design, design development, construction document preparation, and construction phase services.

We’re looking for a Structural Engineering Intern to join our team of experts onsite in Richmond Heights, MO. A DAY IN THE LIFE

An Intern has the opportunity to assist our Structural team with the following:

• Assist in preparing preliminary and structural building design for projects across the country


• Help to produce structural calculations for implementation with technical design/drafting staff during preparation of construction documents for permit submittal as well as construction


• Communicate with technical design/drafting staff. Coordinate with construction project managers, architect, civil, mechanical, clients and other project team members to find creative solutions to structural building elements


• Working with a mentor to provide peer reviews of design drawings to ensure accuracy and find creative solutions or alternative design suggestions to save on cost and/or design schedule

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS

• Enrolled in Bachelor’s degree program in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering or related discipline


• Minimum Grade Point Average of 3.0 out of 4.0


• Ability to work 40 hours per week


• Previous Internship or Co-op experience preferred but not required


• Internship or classwork experience in AutoCAD preferred


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong work ethic
