Job summary

Richard Adams Engineers & Consultants (RAE) is seeking a Structural Designer for our office in Richmond Heights, MO. You will collaborate with project teams to develop preliminary and structural designs for projects nationwide and perform structural calculations for construction documents. We hire entry level to 2 years.

A BS in Civil Engineering with structural emphasis and a 3.2 GPA are required. AutoCAD and Excel are essential; Revit a plus.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering with a Structural emphasis and a minimum 3.2 cumulative GPA.
• Entry level to 2 years of structural engineering building design experience.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD required. Strong Excel skills required. Revit experience preferred, not required.
• Knowledge of analysis and design programs such as RAM Structural System, SAP2000, RISA is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Work with project managers during estimating to optimize structural solutions.
• Prepare preliminary and structural building designs for projects across the country.
• Produce structural calculations for construction documents and permits.
• Coordinate with designers, architects, engineers, and clients to find creative solutions.
• Provide peer reviews of drawings to improve accuracy and reduce costs and schedule.

About You:

Richard Adams Engineers & Consultants (RAE) is a full-service structural engineering firm established in 1993. RAE offers a full-range of professional engineering services, including project planning and feasibility studies, conceptual design, design development, construction document preparation, and construction phase services.

We are looking for a Structural Designer to join our team of experts in our office in Richmond Heights, MO. A Day in the Life:

• Work with construction project managers during the estimating process to optimize creative structural solutions that align to the project needs


• Prepare preliminary and structural buildingdesign for projects across the country


• Produce structural calculations for implementation with technical design/drafting staff during preparation of construction documents for permit submittal as well as construction


• Communicate with technical design/drafting staff. Coordinate with construction project managers, architect, civil, mechanical, clients and other project team members to find creative solutions to structural building elements


• Provide peer reviews of design drawings to ensure accuracy and find creative solutions or alternative design suggestions to save on cost and/or design schedule

Necessary Qualifications:

• BS in Civil Engineering with a Structural emphasis and a minimum 3.2 cumulative GPA
