Job summary

ARCO is seeking a Structural Designer in our Richmond Heights, MO office to support design-build projects nationwide. You will collaborate with project managers, engineers, and drafters to create safe, economical structural solutions and deliver construction documents for permit submittal.

The role suits entry-level to 2 years of experience, requires AutoCAD and strong Excel skills; Revit is a plus. We offer ESOP, 401k and comprehensive benefits, and opportunities to grow with a privately owned

Qualifications

  • BS in Civil Engineering with a Structural emphasis; minimum 3.2 GPA.
  • Entry level to 2 years of structural building design experience.
  • AutoCAD required; strong Excel skills; Revit experience preferred, not required.

Responsibilities

  • Work with project managers during estimating to optimize structural solutions.
  • Prepare preliminary and structural building design for projects across the country.
  • Produce structural calculations for construction documents and permit submittal.
  • Coordinate with design staff, project managers, architect, civil, mechanical, clients and team to find solutions.
  • Provide peer reviews of design drawings to improve accuracy and reduce cost/schedule.

Richard Adams Engineers & Consultants (RAE) is a full-service structural engineering firm established in 1993. RAE offers a full-range of professional engineering services, including project planning and feasibility studies, conceptual design, design development, construction document preparation, and construction phase services.

We are looking for a Structural Designer to join our team of experts in our office in Richmond Heights, MO. A Day in the Life:
  • Work with construction project managers during the estimating process to optimize creative structural solutions that align to the project needs
  • Prepare preliminary and structural buildingdesign for projects across the country
  • Produce structural calculations for implementation with technical design/drafting staff during preparation of construction documents for permit submittal as well as construction
  • Communicate with technical design/drafting staff. Coordinate with construction project managers, architect, civil, mechanical, clients and other project team members to find creative solutions to structural building elements
  • Provide peer reviews of design drawings to ensure accuracy and find creative solutions or alternative design suggestions to save on cost and/or design schedule
Necessary Qualifications:
  • BS in Civil Engineering with a Structural emphasis and a minimum 3.2 cumulative GPA
  • Entry level to 2 years of structural engineering building design experience
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD required. Strong Excel skills required. Revit experience preferred, not required
  • Knowledge of analysis and design programs such as RAM Structural System, SAP2000, RISA is helpful but not required
