Job summary

Paycom - ATS in Duffield, VA is seeking a designer for shelter drawings and structural systems. You will design, develop, and modify drawings, ensuring accuracy for shelter projects. This role supports engineers and fabricators in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred.
• 0 to 2 years on-the-job Structural Engineering/Designing experience.
• AutoCAD or Revit proficiency.
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Windows, Word, Excel knowledge; latest AutoCAD and Revit releases.
• Algebra, geometry and mathematical formula knowledge.
• Technical ability in structural, architectural, and mechanical fields.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, alteration, or modification of shelter drawings and structural systems.
• Prepare detailed drawings for shelter and structural design with accuracy.
• Break down information from bid letters, specifications, and drawings for shelter design.
• Perform calculations following standard procedures.
• Prepare work orders (detailed BOM) while drawings are in progress.
• Work on projects of limited complexity mainly single concrete shelters.
• Assist other designers as needed and check/mark up drawings.
• Provide technical assistance to factory personnel, sales staff or customers.
• Possible travel as needed.
• Perform other duties as required by management.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the design, development, alteration, or modification of shelter drawings and structural systems as assigned.
• Prepares a wide variety of detailed drawings for the shelter and structural design and is responsible for their accuracy.
• Breaks down information obtained from the bid letter, customer specification, customer supplied drawings and electrical designer drawings to do shelter design.
• Perform a variety of calculations following standard procedures.
• Prepare work orders (detailed BOM) while drawings are in progress.
• Works on projects of limited complexity composing of mainly single concrete shelters.
• Assists other designers as needed.
• Checks/Marks up team members drawings as required.
• Renders technical assistance to factory personnel, sales staff or customers as needed.
• Possible travel as needed.
• Performs other assigned duties as required by management.

Qualifications
