Job summary

Ferrovial Construction in Austin, TX seeks a Structural Design Manager to lead design and engineering efforts for large-scale civil infrastructure projects in the US and Canada. You will coordinate external design teams, manage design schedules, and ensure compliance with North American standards, budgets, and timelines.

The role requires a PE license (or eligibility within 3 months), a strong background in bridges/structures, and fluency with Bentley/SAP2000/SOFiSTiK tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering from a US accredited college/university.
• MSc degree focused on structural engineering preferred.
• PE license in any US state (Texas preferred) or ability to obtain within three months.
• Minimum of five years of relevant experience in design of bridges and structures.
• Knowledge of North American standards (AASHTO, CSA S6, ACI).
• Experience with Bentley MicroStation and/or AutoCAD; OpenBridge Designer, SAP2000, SOFiSTiK preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead or participate in development of structural design for tender proposals and design‑build projects.
• Manage external design teams to prepare plans, reports and specs for design phase deliverables.
• Conduct due diligence reviews of bridge and structure designs and perform quality control checks.
