Job summary
Arup in Houston, TX is seeking a Bridge Engineer for a full-time, on-site role focused on planning, analysis, and design of bridge structures.
You will perform structural analysis, prepare drawings and reports, and support delivery from concept through construction documentation while collaborating with rail and infrastructure specialists.
A strong background in bridge design, familiarity with codes, and a TX PE license (or near-term eligibility) are preferred.
Qualifications
- Experience in structural analysis and bridge engineering.
- Experience with bridge design, detailing, and evaluation.
- Familiarity with bridge systems in transport networks incl. rail.
- Proficiency with SAP2000, MIDAS, STAAD, and CAD/BIM tools.
- Engineer degree in civil/structural engineering; TX PE preferred.
Responsibilities
- Plan, analyze, and design bridge and related civil structures.
- Prepare drawings and technical reports from concept through construction documents.
- Contribute to design reviews and quality assurance processes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with rail transport specialists.
- Respond to contractor and client queries to ensure designs meet safety and regulatory requirements.
