Job summary

ENERCON is seeking a Structural Design Engineer to join our Nuclear Design Group. The role offers a clear path from mid-level to principal leadership, with opportunities to mentor others and advance technically.

You will work on safety-critical facilities, collaborate across disciplines, and contribute to design studies, calculations, and project scopes. The ideal candidate has a Civil/Structural background, 3+ years of relevant experience, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil and/or Structural Engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience designing structural systems including concrete and steel.
• Experience in power generation, nuclear power or government (DOE) projects with an engineering/design firm.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to contribute as an individual and in a team environment.
• Proficiency in Word and Excel.
• US Citizenship required due to Federal Contract requirements.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate Across Disciplines: Work with professionals from various engineering fields to ensure design integration.
• Lead Design Initiatives: Develop design studies, craft project scopes, and provide accurate estimates.
• Innovate Solutions: Tackle complex technical challenges with fresh ideas and problem-solving.
• Engage in Field Operations: Travel, site walkdowns, oversee field installations, and support start-ups.
• Inspire Teams: Lead by example with a results-driven attitude and effective leadership.
