Job summary

ENERCON is seeking a Structural Design Engineer to join our Nuclear Design Group. The role supports analysis, design, and evaluation of critical structures for power/industrial projects, with opportunities to lead initiatives and mentor others.

The ideal candidate has a Civil/Structural engineering degree, 3+ years’ experience in structural design (concrete/steel), strong communication, and US citizenship. Travel ~10%; positions across several US locations including Chattanooga, TN.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil and/or Structural Engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience with design of structural systems including concrete and steel.
• Experience in power generation, nuclear power, heavy industrial, manufacturing, or government projects.
• Strong writing, presentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to work as an individual contributor and in teams; Proficient in Word and Excel.
• U.S. Citizenship due to Federal Contract Requirements.
• Approximately 10% travel.

Responsibilities

• Support the analysis, design, and evaluation of critical structures and components for client facilities.
• Collaborate across disciplines to ensure safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance.
• Prepare technical reports, calculations, and specifications; communicate findings to project teams and clients.
• Lead design initiatives, develop project scopes, and provide accurate engineering estimates.
• Engage in field operations, travel to sites, and support system start-ups; mentor junior engineers.
