Job summary

Kiewit Nuclear Solutions seeks a Structural Design Intern in Oak Ridge, TN or Lenexa, KS. The role focuses on establishing and applying design standards and BIM-based drawings to support nuclear engineering projects.

You will collaborate with engineers and other disciplines, building familiarity with Revit, AutoCAD, GEOPAK, and Navisworks while pursuing an associate or bachelor’s in CAD/Drafting. You will participate in the development of project standards, assist in BIM modeling for foundations

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in an associate or bachelor’s program in CAD/Drafting Technology or related discipline.
Proficient in CAD drafting programs such as Revit, AutoCAD, GEOPAK, or Navisworks.
Able to communicate via email and use electronic meeting requests, familiar with spreadsheets and databases.
Capable of communicating clearly with team members and other disciplines, both verbally and in writing.
Able to complete assignments within designated timeframes.
Understanding of multi-discipline engineering and vendor documentation.

Responsibilities

Coordinate with design group members to review and exchange project information for design and development.
Gathers information and collaborates with engineers to develop BIM models for foundations and steel structures.
Leverages BIM to create plans, drawings, and details.
Assist in developing department standards and tools.
