Qualifications

• Enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in civil or architectural engineering (structural emphasis) from an ABET-accredited college or university.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 preferred.
• Completion of a fundamental structural analysis course, including computer applications.
• Completion of a strength of materials course covering statics and dynamics.
• Completion of a fundamentals of steel design and/or concrete design course.
• Proficiency with basic spreadsheet, database, and word processing programs.
• Familiarity with basic structural analysis software and engineering software; CAD drafting tools.
• Experience with SAP2000, Mathcad, and Navisworks is advantageous.
• Must be a US citizen with documentation for badge access.
• Pass a security questionnaire and background check appropriate to position duties.

Responsibilities

• Work closely under supervision by a more experienced engineer.
• Develop familiarity with departmental design standards and Kiewit policies.
• Adhere to Kiewit Nuclear Solutions quality program requirements.
• Prepare basic engineering calculations using standard methods.
• Create basic design sketches and drawings for drafting and final plans.
• Calculate cost and quantity estimates from data analysis.
• Assist in checking calculations, drawings, and documents per guidelines.
• May inspect construction sites to monitor progress and conformance to drawings.
