Job summary

Kiewit Nuclear Solutions is hiring experienced Structural Designers to join our expanding team. The role focuses on BIM-enabled design of foundations and steel structures within a nuclear context, using Revit and Navisworks, and mentoring peers.

Qualifications

• Completion of a vocational training program in Computer Aided Design and 5-10+ years of structural design experience using Revit.
• Interpret multi-discipline engineering and vendor documents.
• Demonstrate leadership to monitor peers and guide junior designers.
• Good knowledge of the latest computer operating systems.
• Effective written and verbal communication.
• DOE and Commercial Nuclear experience preferred.
• US Citizenship or permanent resident.
• Ability to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with design group members to review project information necessary for design and development.
• Check design for consistency, safety, operability and maintenance requirements before submitting to checking.
• Report task progress to Lead Designer.
• Gather required information and collaborate with engineers and multiple disciplines to develop BIM models for foundations and steel structures.
• Leverage Building Information Modeling (BIM) to create plans, drawings, and details.
• Aid in the development of department standards and tools.
• Mentors other team members in design and modeling techniques.
• Resolve design issues effectively with input from responsible party.
