Job summary

Blue Origin in Seattle, WA seeks an engineer to provide structural analysis support for ground support equipment and tooling. You will perform FEM analyses, review designs, and guide designers on stress and fracture aspects to ensure safe, reliable manufacturing.

Preferred experience includes Creo/Siemens NX and industry codes; relocation is provided. This role offers growth within the Operations division with cross-functional collaboration across engineering disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering and 2+ years analyzing GSE or tooling.
• Experience with FEMs (Ansys/NX/Nastran) and 1D/2D/3D elements.
• Ability to generate free-body diagrams and load calculations.
• Familiarity with AISC-360, ASME B30/31, BTH-1 codes.
• U.S. citizen/national or eligible for work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Perform strength assessments using classical analysis and FEA for tooling and GSE.
• Document stress analyses to enable release of drawings and docs.
• Mentor tooling designers on stress, stability, and fracture analysis.
• Provide design guidance on risk, cost, and performance trade-offs.
• Support cross-functional teams in design development and trades.
• Lead analysis of tooling and equipment for manufacturing and assembly.
• Serve as technical contact for vendor-developed tooling projects.
