Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Structural Analysis Engineer to perform FEMAP/Nastran analysis on carbon fiber and composite components for unmanned aircraft systems. This remote contract role spans 3–9 months and involves developing FE models, evaluating loads, and communicating results to design teams across the product lifecycle.

You will collaborate with mechanical and aerospace engineers, review drawings, and contribute to design improvements while ensuring robust structural integrity and documentation

Qualifications

• 2+ years hands-on FEMAP/Nastran structural analysis
• Experience with composites or carbon fiber structures
• Experience with bonded and fastened joints
• Ability to interpret loads and translate results into recommendations
• Strong technical communication and collaboration (remote/in-office)
• U.S. person status required

Responsibilities

• Perform structural and stress analysis of carbon fiber and composite components and assemblies.
• Develop finite element models using FEMAP and Nastran.
• Assess structural performance under loads and identify potential failure modes or areas of concern.
• Analyze bonded and fastened joints, including load transfer and structural integrity.
• Use engineering calculations to support and check finite element analysis results.
• Document analysis methods, assumptions, results, and recommendations in clear technical reports.

We are looking for a Structural Analysis Engineer who enjoys solving complex problems involving composite structures. This person will use FEMAP and Nastran to evaluate carbon fiber and other composite components and help the team develop sound, practical designs.

What You’ll Do

What We’re Looking For

• 2+ years of hands‑on experience using FEMAP and Nastran for structural analysis.
• Experience analyzing composite or carbon fiber structures.
• Experience with bonded and fastened joints.
• Ability to interpret structural loads and translate analysis results into clear engineering recommendations.
• Strong technical communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a remote or in‑office team.
• U.S. person status required.

Nice to Have

• Experience with SolidWorks and/or Siemens NX for CAD.
• Aerospace, aircraft, UAV, or UAS experience.
• Experience with structural substantiation reports, hand calculations, or fatigue analysis.
• A mechanical, aerospace, or related engineering degree.
