Job summary

South Texas Health System seeks a Stroke Program Manager to ensure stroke certification requirements are maintained for the acute facility and to provide leadership for performance improvement and regulatory compliance. The role includes concurrent rounding on stroke patients, chart reviews, data management, and education for staff and the community.

Qualifications

  • 3 years acute nursing experience required; ED or Critical Care preferred.
  • Must acquire and maintain 8 CEUs related to Stroke annually.
  • Demonstrates competency and professionalism in verbal and written communication.
  • Experience in an acute-care hospital environment.
  • Hours are flexible but must work in a high-pressure environment with changing priorities.
  • A thorough understanding of the clinical aspect of patient care.
  • Adheres to the Compliance Program and Code of Conduct and reports issues.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains Stroke Certification requirements for the facility.
  • Provides leadership and consultative support for performance improvement activities.
  • Assists with regulatory compliance for the facility designation program.
  • Performs concurrent chart reviews and data management for stroke patients.
  • Coordinates data collection, education of staff and community on stroke initiatives.
  • Collaborates with Stroke Medical Director and System Neuroscience Director on PI needs.
