Job summary

UF Health, Jacksonville, seeks a registered nurse to provide professional stroke care in the ED and inpatient settings. You will work with interdisciplinary neurology teams during stroke alerts, thrombolysis, and interventional radiology evaluations.

You will review stroke outcomes, identify improvement opportunities, and reinforce patient education for safe transitions of care at discharge.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years RN experience in ED/ICU/neurology.
• Active Florida RN license.
• BLS and ACLS certifications.
• NIHSS certification within 6 months of hire.
• BSN within 3 years of hire preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care per the nursing process and standards.
• Respond to ED and inpatient stroke alerts at the downtown campus.
• Collaborate with neurology teams during stroke alerts, thrombolytic administration, and evaluation for interventional radiology.
• Compile and review stroke patient outcome data; identify trends for improvement.
• Communicate recommendations to nursing units to enhance documentation and care quality.
• Identify educational gaps for stroke patients before discharge; conduct proactive patient rounding.
