Job summary

UF Health Jacksonville is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Neuro ICU to provide specialized care for critically ill neurological and neurosurgical patients. You will conduct comprehensive neurological assessments, plan and implement care, and coordinate with physicians and the care team.

The role emphasizes patient safety, education, and collaboration in a Level I trauma and neuroscience program. Ideal candidates hold ADN with BSN within three years of hire, Florida licensure, and ACLS/BLS

Qualifications

• ADN required for RN position in UF Health Jacksonville.
• BSN within 3 years of hire or transfer for new hires after 2017.
• Florida RN licensure or eligibility required.
• ACLS/BLS certifications within specified timelines.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to critically ill neurological and neurosurgical patients.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and ongoing neurological monitoring.
• Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition.
• Administer medications, treatments, and therapies per physician orders and policies.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans.
• Utilize advanced technology and monitoring systems to support care delivery.
• Educate patients and families about treatment plans and discharge needs.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR.
• Mentor peers and participate in quality improvement activities.
• Serve as charge nurse when assigned.
