Job summary

UCI Health seeks a Stroke Coordinator to plan, implement, and evaluate the hospital's Stroke Program, ensuring high-quality, evidence-based patient care and certification readiness. The role collaborates with physicians, nursing, EMS, radiology, and rehabilitation to improve access to timely stroke treatment and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Understanding of performance improvement processes.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data.
• Professionalism and sensitivity to diverse backgrounds.
• Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.
• Customer service skills appropriate to the job.
• Minimum 5 years of experience caring for stroke patients in Acute Care.
• Good organization skills and ability to prioritize assignments.
• Experience working with physicians, nurses, and others to develop patient care plans.
• Computer skills, especially Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Support stroke certification readiness and regulatory survey preparation.
• Coordinate staff education and review stroke cases for quality improvement.
• Monitor compliance with stroke protocols and performance measures.
• Provide feedback to clinical teams to improve patient outcomes.
• Act as a clinical resource for staff, patients, families, and community partners.
• Support strategic initiatives that strengthen the stroke program and promote collaboration.
