Job summary

UCI Health is seeking a Stroke Coordinator to join the Stroke Program team. In collaboration with the Stroke Program Manager, you will plan, coordinate, and evaluate stroke care processes to meet national certification standards.

You will partner with physicians, nurses, EMS, radiology, and case management to promote timely recognition, treatment, and recovery, while supporting education, quality improvement, and community stroke awareness.

Qualifications

• Understanding of performance improvement processes.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data.
• Must demonstrate professionalism and sensitivity to diverse cultural backgrounds at all times and in all situations.
• Must demonstrate excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.
• Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.
• Minimum 5 years of experience caring for stroke patients in the Acute Care hospital setting.
• Good organization skills and ability to prioritize assignments.
• Demonstrated experience working with physicians, nurses, and others to effectively develop and initiate patient care plans.
• Computer skills, especially Microsoft Office, Word, Excel
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, coordinating, and evaluating the hospital's Stroke Program to ensure high-quality, evidence-based patient care.
• Coordinate staff education and quality improvement initiatives across the continuum of stroke care.
• Review stroke cases to identify opportunities for quality improvement and monitor adherence to stroke protocols.
• Provide ongoing feedback to clinical teams to improve patient outcomes and support certification readiness.
• Serve as a clinical resource for staff, patients, families, and community partners promoting stroke prevention and education.
• Support strategic initiatives that strengthen the organization’s stroke program and interdisciplinary collaboration.
