Job Description

To perform work necessary for the maintenance and repair of city streets, parking lots, drainage facilities, and right-of-ways. Additional duties include:

• Assisting in maintenance and repair operations such as pothole repair, utility cut repair, crack sealing, overlays, reconstruction, drainage facility cleaning, barricade construction, de-icing, street sweeping, and vegetation control.
• Operating equipment used in maintenance and repair of city streets and right-of-ways.
• Maintaining buildings and grounds housing the street department.
• Performing minor welding activities when required.
• Mowing, weed eating, and cleaning right-of-way and drainage areas.
• Installing and replacing street signs.
• Assisting in other department activities as needed.
• Responding to after-hours emergencies as needed.
• Working weekends, holidays, and during special events as needed.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• High School diploma or GED; some construction-related experience preferred.
• Knowledge of backhoe, crack sealer, dump truck, front-end loader, jackhammer, and various hand tools.
• Valid Class C Texas driver license; CDL preferred.
