Job summary

The City of Port Aransas is hiring a Streets Maintenance Worker to perform general labor and semi-skilled work under the Streets Maintenance Supervisor. You will assist in cleaning, maintaining, and repairing city streets, roadways, entrances, and manage trash/recycling disposal along streets.

Key duties include operating street vehicles and equipment, performing routine maintenance, and aiding fleet technicians. A valid Texas driver’s license and ability to follow safety procedures are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Valid Texas driver’s license is required.
• Experience in work zone traffic control (flagging, barricade placement) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate street vehicles and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain and repair city streets, roadways, entrances, and related infrastructure.
• Assist in cleaning, disposal of trash and recycling on city streets.
• Support fleet technicians in service, repairs, and fabrication as directed.
• Ensure worksite safety with barricades, flags, and traffic direction.
