Job summary

The City of South Padre Island is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform semi-skilled maintenance on street and drainage facilities. You will operate equipment, assist with construction tasks, and ensure safety and cleanliness of work sites.

Responsibilities include sign installation, pavement work, and beach area maintenance, with potential bilingual communication in English/Spanish preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of related work experience or equivalent education.
• CDL certification preferred; valid state driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Inspects and repairs streets and drainage systems to ensure proper function.
• Operates and maintains a variety of maintenance equipment.
• Performs road work, signs installation, and trash collection.
• Drives trucks for hauling equipment, gravel, and sand.
