Job summary

The City of East Point is seeking a skilled sanitation equipment operator to maintain city roads and drainage systems. This role operates gasoline and diesel-powered equipment, inspects gear, and supports the Water & Sewer Department to keep streets clean and safe for residents.

Requirements include a High School diploma, five years of equipment operation, a Georgia CDL Class A license, and the ability to obtain Level 1A Soil & Erosion Certification within 12 months.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Five years of equipment operating experience is required.
• Must possess Georgia CDL Class A license.
• Must obtain Level 1A Soil & Erosion Certification within 12 months.
• Knowledge of hazards and safety precautions for equipment operation.

Responsibilities

• Operates heavy equipment for maintenance of roads, drainage systems, and related facilities.
• Cleans gutters, catch basins, and related structures.
• Conducts daily inspections and documents missing equipment or needed repairs.
• Performs preventive checks and routine maintenance on vehicles and tools.
• Performs other duties as assigned and works under supervision in the Water & Sewer Department.
