Job summary

City of East Point is seeking a team member to repair and maintain city landscapes, streets, sidewalks, and grounds. The role involves loading and unloading materials, operating grounds equipment, and performing semi-skilled tasks such as mixing cement and asphalt.

Candidates should have a High School diploma or equivalent and a Class C Driver's License (or equivalent). The position requires flexibility to perform a variety of duties and physical tasks in an outdoor municipal environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Class C Driver's License or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Repairs and maintains City landscapes.
• Conducts road construction and cleans streets.
• Patches pot holes and repairs streets.
• Repairs and maintains sidewalks and grounds.
• Loads and unloads items such as stone, gravel, dirt, asphalt, pipe, timber and heavy equipment.
• Assists in semi-skilled work by handling tools, carrying lumber, mixing cement and asphalt, or running errands.
• Performs a variety of heavy manual work in maintenance of streets, roads and facilities.
• Collects and disposes of debris and trash caused by job.
• Cuts grass around public buildings and right-of-ways.
• Operates weed eater and other grounds maintenance equipment.
• Maintains and repairs equipment.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
