Job summary

City of East Point is seeking a Maintenance Worker to join a Public Works crew performing heavy manual labor in water, sewer, stormwater, and buildings and grounds. You will repair streets, patch potholes, maintain sidewalks and grounds, load materials, operate weed eater and other equipment, and assist in storm drain and catch basin work.

Requires a High School diploma or equivalent, at least five years' related experience, and a Georgia Class B CDL; equal combinations of education and

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with 5 years of related experience.
• Valid Georgia Class B Commercial Driver License.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Repairs and maintains City sewer lines and landscapes.
• Conducts road construction and cleans streets.
• Patches potholes and repairs streets.
• Repairs sidewalks and grounds.
• Loads and unloads stone, gravel, dirt, asphalt, pipe, timber and heavy equipment.
• Assists in semi-skilled work with tools, carrying or lifting lumber, mixing or placing cement and asphalt concrete, performing simple repairs or errands.
• Maintains and repairs equipment.
• Assists in storm drain installation and catch basin work.
• Cuts grass around public buildings and right-of-ways.
• Operates weed eater and other grounds maintenance equipment.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
