Job summary

Ymca Of Central Maryland, Inc. seeks a Program Director to lead Youth & Family Services. You will provide strategic and operational direction for Stay & Play and related programs, ensuring safe and engaging experiences for children and families across Y Family Centers.

You will develop programs aligned with the Y's mission, supervise staff, manage budgets, and collaborate with cross‑department teams to strengthen member engagement, retention, and community impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field.
• Minimum three years of youth development/childcare experience.
• Two+ years of supervisory or people leadership experience.
• Experience developing, implementing, and evaluating youth or family programs.
• Experience managing budgets, staffing, and program operations.
• Strong understanding of positive youth development, child safety, and family engagement.

Responsibilities

• Lead program strategy and positive youth development across youth and family programs.
• Develop and evaluate age-appropriate programs and experiences.
• Establish goals and performance measures for participation, quality, engagement, and retention.
• Provide leadership for Stay & Play operations, ensuring safety and engagement.
• Coach and develop Stay & Play associates and ensure supervision and staffing coverage.
• Maintain compliance with child safety, supervision, and risk management practices.
• Manage program budgets, enrollment, and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with Family Center leadership and other departments to enhance service quality and retention.
