Job summary

CNA Insurance is seeking an individual contributor to manage commercial claims with moderate to high complexity in California. The role involves investigating and resolving claims per company protocols, with emphasis on proactive settlements and effective communication with insureds and customers.

Responsibilities include determining coverage, reserves, and liability, while collaborating with internal partners; mentoring may occur as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
• Typically four years of relevant experience, preferably in claim handling.
• Must have or be able to obtain and maintain an Insurance Adjuster License within 90 days of hire, where applicable.
• Professional designations are a plus (e.g. CPCU).

Responsibilities

• Manages moderate to high complexity commercial claims following company protocols and disbursements within authority.
• Provides exceptional customer service with regular updates and prompt inquiries.
• Verifies coverage and establishes reserves by interpreting policy language and consulting with counsel on complex matters.
• Conducts focused investigations to determine compensability, liability and damages, gathering documents, statements, and expert input as needed.
• Maintains relationships with internal/external partners to resolve claims effectively.
• Identifies subrogation opportunities or fraud risks and escalates as needed.
• Ensures documentation for quality and regulatory compliance.
