Job summary

Owens & Minor is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to coordinate and manage multiple warehouse functions including receiving, warehousing, and shipping. This position has overall warehouse operations responsibility during the absence of the Warehouse Manager and can supervise Distribution Supervisors.

The role requires at least three years of O&M experience, supervisory ability, and certification on warehouse machinery.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of basic topics (math, reading, basic accounting, typing).
• Completion of warehouse training modules with certification on all warehouse machinery.
• At least three years of O&M experience; for external hires at least one year supervisory experience and at least two years warehouse experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists teammates in solving work problems.
• Reviews bills of lading of incoming merchandise and customer orders to plan work activities.
• Prepares truck delivery schedules with Warehouse Manager and Lead Driver.
• Assigns teammates to duties and ensures accurate storage and order assembly.
• Establishes work schedules and ensures timely, correctly implemented tasks.
• Supervises Leads, teammates, and other supervisors to complete warehouse functions.
• Screens and hires warehouse teammates and trains them on equipment operation.
• Enforces safety regulations and motivates workers to achieve goals.
• Conducts performance reviews and initiates personnel actions as needed.
• Recommends improvements to quality and equipment use to increase efficiency.
• Ensures adherence to all Federal statues (DEA/OSHA) in warehouse operations.
• Collaborates with non-warehouse departments to coordinate activities.
• Uses Windows-based programs and retrieves reports for essential activities.
