Job summary

Owens & Minor is seeking a warehouse supervisor to coordinate and manage multiple warehouse functions, including receiving, warehousing, and shipping, especially in the absence of the Warehouse Manager.

You will develop and coach direct reports, establish work schedules, supervise leads and teammates, hire and train staff, enforce safety regulations, and coordinate with accounts receivable, purchasing, sales, and customer service to ensure efficient operations.

Qualifications

• College degree strongly preferred.
• Three years leadership experience in a warehouse setting.
• Experience with material handling equipment (forklift, pallet jack).

Responsibilities

• Analyzes and resolves work problems and assists teammates in solving issues.
• Supervises leads, warehouse teammates and other supervisors to ensure timely, accurate completion of warehouse tasks.
• Develops and coaches direct reports and establishes work schedules.
• Hires, trains and evaluates staff, enforcing safety regulations and company policies.
• Coordinates with Accounts Receivable, Purchasing, Sales, and Customer Service to align warehouse activities.
• Uses Windows-based programs and retrieves reports for essential job activities.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $70,000 -$75,000. The actual compensation offered may vary based on job related factors such as experience, skills, and education.

Shift: Monday - Friday 7am - 3pm plus overtime as necessary.

Job Summary

Responsible for coordinating and managing multiple warehouse functions including receiving, warehousing, and shipping. This position has overall warehouse operations responsibility during the absence of the Warehouse Manager. This person will be responsible for developing and coaching their direct reports.

Core Responsibilities

• Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists teammates in solving work problems.
• Works with teammates to review bills of lading of incoming merchandise and customer orders to plan work activities.
• Works with Warehouse Manager and Lead Driver to prepare truck driver's delivery schedule.
• Assigns teammates to specific duties, such as verifying amounts of and storing incoming merchandise and/or assembling customer orders for delivery.
• Establishes work schedules and ensures that the schedules are correctly implemented and that jobs are assigned effectively and completed properly.
• Responsible for supervising Leads, warehouse teammates and other supervisors as appropriate to ensure all warehouse functions are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
• Screens and hires warehouse teammates; ensures teammates receive the appropriate training for their job function including the efficient and safe operation of all material handling equipment and warehouse machinery.
• Interprets company policies to teammates and enforces safety regulations; Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
• Conducts performance reviews and recommends or initiates personnel actions, such as promotions, transfers, discharges, and disciplinary actions.
• Recommends measures to improve quality and suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency.
• Ensures total adherence to all Federal statutes regarding warehouse operations including DEA and OSHA regulations.
• Works with non-warehouse departments such as Account Receivable, Purchasing, Sales, and Customer Service to ensure coordination of warehouse activities.
• Must possess a general ability to use Windows based programs and the routine ability to retrieve and utilize available reports related to essential job activities.
• Performs additional duties as directed.

Qualifying Experience
