Job summary

DHL Supply Chain in the United States seeks a General Manager I - Distribution to oversee day-to-day warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, and shipping, and to develop strategies to reduce costs and boost productivity.

You will lead an operations team, ensure safety and compliance, leverage WMS and automation, manage vendor relations, and present monthly/quarterly business reviews to customers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of managerial or supervisory experience.
• 2+ years in a supply chain, warehousing or distribution environment.
• Experience in 3PL or contract logistics preferred.
• Staff management experience required.
• P&L management preferred.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred.
• WMS experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day warehouse operations including receiving, storing, and shipping.
• Develop and implement strategies to optimize processes, reduce costs and increase productivity.
• Lead and coach a team of managers and staff, building a strong team culture.
• Ensure safety regulations and policies are followed and the working environment is safe and efficient.
• Utilize WMS, automation and technology to track inventory and performance.
• Manage vendor relationships and ensure cost-effective services and supplies within the contractual framework.
• Prepare reports on warehouse performance, inventory levels and other key metrics for decision making.
• Maintain strong customer relationships through daily interaction and service excellence.
• Own the site's P&L and contribute to customer relationships and business profitability.
• Prepare and present Monthly/Quarterly Business Reviews to customers.
