Job summary

The George Washington University’s GW Venues team seeks a Senior Associate Director, Venues to oversee sponsored and external events across campus, including USC and partner venues. You will manage two Venue Managers, coordinate client engagements, and lead on-site execution from planning through post-event wrap-up.

Based at GW’s Foggy Bottom campus in Washington, DC, the role requires a 40-hour week with a hybrid onsite schedule and occasional nights/weekends. Visa sponsorship is not offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED with 4 years of relevant professional experience, or a Bachelor's degree or higher.
• CMP or related certification required.
• Experience organizing complex events at a university or similar large venue is preferred.
• Ability to lead teams and manage sponsors/clients.

Responsibilities

• Lead Venue Manager for sponsored and external events at USC and other campus venues.
• Market GW Venues capabilities to prospective clients and pitch services.
• Ensure compliance with safety, accessibility and university policies during events.
• Develop event orders, timelines, and budgeting estimates for client events.
• Coordinate with Facilities, Campus Safety, GWPD, AV and other partners to execute events.
• Supervise venue staff and assist with recruitment and training.
