Job summary

Vista Equity Partners is seeking an Associate Director for the Value Creation Team (VCT) to work with senior Vista leaders and portfolio executives to identify value creation opportunities and support their execution across multiple companies.

The ideal candidate blends management consulting experience with operating roles, can lead through influence, and has hands-on exposure to software, AI, go-to-market and product organizations. Based in Austin, Chicago, or remote.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required; MBA strongly preferred.
• 8–12 years post-undergrad experience, including time at a leading management consulting firm.
• Experience in an operating role with execution ownership in software/technology or high-growth business.
• Extensive experience in process and project management with a structured problem-solving approach.
• Genuine hands-on interest in AI and emerging technology; comfortable piloting imperfect solutions.
• Experience with go-to-market and/or product organizations and processes.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with portfolio company executives and deal teams to shape value creation strategy.
• Lead portfolio company Executive Team through prioritization of strategic initiatives to develop the Value Creation Plan.
• Drive outcomes by delivering pragmatic solutions and action plans with measurable impact.
• Establish governance to track progress and provide transparency on ongoing value creation activities.
• Identify opportunities for improvement and monitor risks to Investment Thesis and annual plan.
• Partner with the portfolio company’s Director of Strategic Programs and connect back to Vista ecosystem.
• Reprioritize across multiple portfolio companies and deal teams with independent sequencing decisions.
• Identify and support AI use cases within portfolio companies and internally, tracking AI impact metrics.
• Lead internal cross-functional strategic projects to improve Vista's practices and portfolio outcomes.
