Job summary

Vista Equity Partners is seeking an Associate Director for the Value Creation Team (VCT) to partner with portfolio executives and senior Vista leaders. The role blends management consulting with operating experience, emphasizing AI, GTM, and product disciplines to drive value across multiple portfolio companies.

The position supports cross-functional strategic initiatives, requires 8–12 years post-undergrad experience, and may be based in Austin, Chicago, or remote, with travel to onsite

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; MBA strongly preferred.
• 8–12 years post-undergrad experience including time at a leading management consulting firm.
• Operating role experience with execution ownership in software/tech.
• Extensive experience in process and project management with a structured problem-solving approach.
• Genuine interest in AI and emerging tech; comfortable piloting imperfect solutions.
• Experience with go-to-market and/or product organizations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; executive-facing skills.
• Ability to travel and spend time onsite with portfolio companies.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with portfolio company executives to develop the value creation strategy aligned to the Investment Thesis.
• Lead portfolio company executive team through prioritizing strategic initiatives to develop the Value Creation Plan.
• Maintain focus on outcomes and drive practical, actionable plans with clear impact.
• Establish governance to track progress of initiatives and provide visibility across portfolio companies.
• Identify risks to the Investment Thesis and annual plan; address challenges proactively.
• Serve as a liaison to the portfolio company's Director of Strategic Programs and Vista ecosystem.
• Reprioritize across multiple portfolio companies and deal teams with independent judgment on sequencing.
• Identify and support AI use cases within portfolio companies and internally; track AI impact metrics.
• Lead internal cross-functional strategic projects to improve Vista's best practices.
