RXO Inc. is seeking a Director of Transportation Operations to lead strategic planning and optimization of our end-to-end transportation network across the United States.

You will oversee fleet management, carrier relations, routing efficiency, and regulatory compliance while driving cost controls and service improvements. You’ll partner with cross-functional teams to align demand with capacity, manage the annual transportation budget, and deploy Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 8+ years of progressive management experience in transportation, fleet management, or logistics operations.
• Deep knowledge of DOT regulations, carrier contracts, and multi‑modal transportation.
• Experience with TMS and ERP platforms; strong leadership and budget management skills.

Responsabilités

• Define and execute the overarching transportation strategy across inbound, outbound, and multi‑modal network logistics.
• Continuously evaluate routes, carrier networks, and hubs to minimize lead times and costs.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma) to reduce inefficiencies and improve service.
• Oversee carrier selection, contract negotiations, SLAs, and rate structures across TL, LTL, parcel, intermodal, and dedicated fleets.
• Establish and monitor KPIs for carrier performance, including OTIF and billing accuracy.
• Manage the annual transportation budget and P&L, analyzing variances and implementing savings.
