Job summary

NFI Industries in the United States is seeking a Transportation Operations Manager to oversee daily freight loading/unloading, labor planning, and cross-functional coordination with terminal staff. You will supervise drivers and staff, manage costs, and drive compliance with safety, DOT, and FDA standards, contributing to efficient logistics at scale.

The role requires leadership, strategic planning, and strong communication with executives and frontline teams to optimize transportation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of supervisory experience in a supply chain industry.
• Experience with TMW and PeopleNet.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Working knowledge of transportation/mechanical equipment.
• Familiarity with OSHA, DOT, HAZMAT, FDA regulations and willingness to become certified.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of facilities and staff including supervisors, coordinators, clerks, spotters, and drivers.
• Develop strategic plan with Transportation Manager to ensure efficient, cost-effective operation.
• Monitor asset management, delivery/logistics, regulatory compliance, productivity, and communications to top management.
• Ensure customer pickup/delivery requirements meet standards and audits comply with SOPs.
• Balance labor with staffing levels and analyze workload versus labor hours and equipment.
• Plan long-term labor needs based on sales, forecasts, and historical data.
