Job summary

The Senior Director of Transportation Management Operations at NFI leads the transportation management division’s strategy, performance and day-to-day direction. This role oversees operations across NFI, NDC and NFIL, drives cost efficiency and service quality, and collaborates to grow each program.

You will develop and execute new strategies, manage implementations, coach staff, and ensure SLAs and KPIs are met while leveraging a strong TMS skill set and customer focus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 10+ years’ experience in transportation operations with a proven track record.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to travel up to 50%.
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint and TMS systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations including customer and carrier relations and internal functions.
• Lead the transportation management strategy across NFI, NDC and NFIL and align with other organizations.
• Develop and implement new strategies, services and tactical business plans.
• Manage staffing strategies, contracts and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Train and coach TM operators and become a TMS super user.
• Ensure high levels of customer service and meet SLAs and KPIs.
• Create repeatable and automated processes to maximize efficiency.
• Monitor industry trends and provide strategic recommendations to management.
