Job summary

Pacific Northwest National Laboratory is seeking a Strategic Trade Controls Research Analyst to support federal sponsors, including DOE/NNSA and other agencies. You will analyze laws, control lists, licensing processes, and risk factors while engaging with international partners and government officials.

The role requires strong writing, cross‑cultural communication, and proven ability to translate complex findings into actionable policy and program recommendations.

Qualifications

• BS/BA with 7 years of relevant experience or MS/MA with 5 years.
• Experience with strategic trade controls, export controls, nonproliferation, or related field.
• Knowledge of U.S. export control system and international frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research and analysis on national and international strategic trade control laws and practices.
• Analyze commodities, software, and technologies for control lists and classifications.
• Support licensing, risk assessment, and interagency coordination activities.
