Job summary

Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) seeks an early- to mid-career Risk Analyst to support risk projects across national security, environment, and energy reliability. You will conduct qualitative and quantitative risk analyses, mentor staff, and help develop risk-related products, with opportunities to publish and present findings.

The role requires strong analytical skills, experience with uncertainty methods, and excellent communication. A security clearance is required.

Qualifications

• BS/BA with 5 years of relevant experience OR MS/MA with 3 years of relevant experience.
• Preferred degree in Engineering, Operations Research, Statistics, or Economics.
• Certification in Risk Management (CRP/FRM-style) is a plus.
• Knowledge of quantitative risk models and uncertainty analysis methods.
• Experience with elicitation methods, Monte Carlo analysis, and decision tools.
• Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to present complex results.

Responsibilities

• Conduct qualitative and semi-quantitative risk analysis and provide recommendations to decision makers.
• Assist project managers to identify risks, develop risk characterizations, and craft handling plans.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to technical risk-related products.
• Publish research and participate in professional activities to raise the lab's profile.
• Communicate uncertainty concepts clearly in high-quality presentations and reports.
