Job summary

Attain Partners is seeking a lead for research security and export controls to ensure regulatory compliance across the institution. The role involves coordinating export control determinations, training, and policy development in collaboration with departments and offices.

The position emphasizes risk assessment, policy updates, and effective stakeholder engagement to promote ethics and compliance in research activities. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• In-depth understanding of ITAR, EAR, OFAC regulations and federal contracting requirements.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively.
• Experience developing and implementing research compliance programs and global trade compliance.
• Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of direct experience or equivalent combination.

Responsibilities

• Promotes a culture of compliance and oversees adherence to federal regulations and policies.
• Executes compliance program activities, including risk assessments and work plans.
• Serves as the institution’s research security point of contact for external requests.
• Manages export control program duties and ITAR determinations; coordinates licensing with agencies.
• Develops policies to support export control compliance and updates procedures.
• Reviews proposals, grants, confidentiality agreements, and other contracts for export control terms.
