Job summary

Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment is seeking a senior program leader to guide statewide public health initiatives, oversee contract and grant monitoring, and build strategic partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.

The role focuses on steering program planning and implementation, improving equity, and ensuring operational excellence across prevention and cessation efforts in alignment with state goals.

Qualifications

• Seven (7) years of relevant experience in state or local public health program implementation.
• Combination of education with at least seven years of related public health program experience.
• Residency requirement: Colorado residents only.

Responsibilities

• Lead operational Work Lead for designated team members, assign tasks, track timelines, and review timecards to support annual evaluations.
• Oversee contract and grant monitoring, draft SOWs and KPIs, and ensure procurement rules compliance.
• Build and maintain strategic partnerships with internal CDPHE branches, LPAs, health systems and partners.
• Develop and manage work plans for CDC/NTP objectives, Proposition EE funding, and state mandates.
