Job summary

The Nicotine Use Prevention and Control Program Director position at the New Mexico Department of Health invites experienced public health professionals to lead program strategy and operations. This role contributes to health equity and advances the PCHB mission within NMDOH.

The ideal candidate will hold a public health-related degree and have substantial experience in managing a health services program, with strong collaboration across local and state partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Public Health, Community Health, Health Education, Management, Communications, or Social Sciences.
• Six (6) years of experience in a health-related field.
• At least three (3) years of experience managing a public health or health services program.
• Any combination of education and/or experience totaling five (5) years may substitute for the required education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Support the development of legislative priorities, training and resources for the Nicotine Use Prevention and Control (NUPAC) Program.
• Facilitate collaboration and partnerships with local and state health and human services delivery systems.
• Educate/inform policy makers, providers, and health system leaders on policies related to health equity and the social determinants of health.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Public Health, Community Health, Health Education, Management, Communications, or Social Sciences

Associate degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Statistics, Finance, or related field
