Job summary

LSU Health Sciences Center New Orleans is seeking an Assistant Director to Tobacco Control Initiative to provide senior operational leadership and coordinate statewide actions under the Program Director.

The role oversees program implementation, administration, personnel, partner engagement, research, evaluation, reporting, and continuous quality improvement, and supervises staff across sites while representing TCI to healthcare leaders and funders.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a public health, health promotion, or related field with at least 7 years healthcare management experience.
• Experience supervising staff and coordinating complex programs across organizations.
• Experience in program planning, budgeting, and evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior operational and programmatic leadership for the Tobacco Control Initiative (TCI).
• Oversee program implementation, administration, personnel, partner engagement, research, evaluation, reporting, and continuous quality improvement.
• Directly supervise program managers, coordinators, student workers, and staff; promote accountability across teams.
• Represent TCI with healthcare administrators, funders, advisory groups, and state/community partners.
• Exercise independent judgment in resolving complex matters and assume leadership in the Program Director's absence.
