Job summary

Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community is seeking a Leadership and Development Manager for Tribal Operations to lead onboarding, performance management, and succession planning. You will partner with HR and Tribal Operations leaders to identify talent gaps and shape leadership curricula across the organization.

You will develop training content, leverage AI tools to enhance learning experiences, and maintain dashboards to drive continuous improvement in talent outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of experience in talent management related to leadership training and talent assessments and programs.
• Experience leading onboarding, engagement programs and leadership training.
• Competence in organizational design, change management, performance management, and talent assessments.
• Strong writing skills and ability to adapt style to stakeholders and audience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage time effectively.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and administration of new hire orientation and onboarding, performance management, talent reviews, succession planning, and leadership learning initiatives.
• Partner with Tribal Operations leaders and HR Partners to assess talent gaps and identify top talent for development.
• Create training content and courses to support professional development across SMSC.
• Develop regular talent reports and dashboards for leaders.
• Leverage AI tools to streamline training operations and personalize learning experiences.
• Ensure compliance training is delivered and tracked.
• Create talent management job aids accessible via internal apps and communications.
• Provide coaching on organizational design and effectiveness.
• Manage training calendars and resource coordination across operations.
• Measure and iterate on the effectiveness of leadership and learning programs.
