Job summary

Howard University Hospital is seeking a Senior Manager, Talent Development to lead learning, leadership development, organizational development, and change management initiatives. You will partner with HR and leaders to assess needs, develop workforce capabilities, support change initiatives, and implement development programs that strengthen performance and leadership effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required; Master's preferred.
  • Five to eight years of experience in Learning & Development, Organizational Development, Talent Management or HR.
  • Two to four years of supervisory or project leadership experience.
  • Credentials such as Prosci Change Management, CPTD, SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP, PHR/SPHR or related.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of leadership development, employee development, professional growth, and learning initiatives.
  • Serve as internal consultant for organizational development initiatives including team effectiveness and capability analysis.
  • Lead change management planning and execution with stakeholder engagement and adoption strategies.
  • Identify performance gaps and development opportunities; recommend solutions to improve effectiveness.
  • Lead succession planning, talent reviews, high-potential development, and leadership pipelines.
  • Develop and facilitate instructor-led, virtual, and blended learning programs and workshops.
  • Evaluate learning effectiveness and organizational outcomes; report to the Director, Talent Management.
  • Manage learning technologies, vendors, instructional resources, and external consultants.
  • Supervise and develop the Training Coordinator; oversee learning administration.
  • Support talent management initiatives including performance management, onboarding, and engagement.
  • Lead workforce development, apprenticeships, internships, and career pathways.
  • Establish learning governance standards, competency frameworks, and mandatory training requirements.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Organizational Psychology, Education, Business Administration, or related field
