Job summary

Howard University seeks a Senior Program Manager to provide strategic leadership, planning, execution, and oversight for complex university-wide programs. You will advise executive leadership, develop governance frameworks, and drive initiatives aligning with university priorities.

The role requires advanced program management expertise, stakeholder influence across academic, administrative, healthcare, and research functions, and supervision of staff and project teams.

Qualifications

• Seven (7) to ten (10) years of progressively responsible professional experience managing complex programs, projects, operations, or institutional initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation, and management of complex strategic initiatives and programs supporting institutional priorities.
• Develop program roadmaps, plans, schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
• Coordinate stakeholder management across schools, departments, and external partners.
• Promote operational excellence and continuous improvement.
• Oversee budgets and resource allocation for programs.
• Establish KPIs and prepare executive dashboards and reports.
• Identify and mitigate risks; ensure compliance with requirements.
• Lead change management and communication strategies.
• Foster external funding opportunities and partnerships.
