Job summary

Voyager Technologies seeks a Chief Engineer for Strategic Systems to lead end-to-end solid rocket propulsion programs, directing large cross-functional teams and aligning execution with budget and schedule. The role reports to the Director of Engineering within the Strategic Systems department.

Based in Reno, NV or alternative US locations including Folsom, CA, Huntsville, AL, Long Beach, CA, or fully remote, the position requires a U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or other relevant engineering discipline with 15 years of engineering experience and 5+ years in technical leadership in solid rocket motors (SRMs)
• Direct the end-to-end technical lifecycle of the program by leading cross-functional teams through rigorous design reviews and qualification milestones
• Lead the engineering team in meeting all program milestones by maintaining the critical path, deconflicting resources, and driving schedule performance
• Establish lean technical scope baselines by managing budgets and monitoring cost performance indices (CPI)
• Serve as the primary technical spokesperson, managing stakeholder relationships and delivering data-driven alternatives for decision-making
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship)
