Job summary

Nationwide is seeking a Territory Manager, Business Development - Surety to lead and underwrite large commercial surety business within a defined territory. You will manage new and renewal books, develop sales strategies with agencies, and drive profitable growth through underwriting authority and collaboration with multiple lines of business.

Extended travel and relocation may be required. A valid driver's license is expected as part of field responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Seven years of progressively responsible surety underwriting experience preferred.
• Broad skill set including marketing to finance to risk analysis and a solutions-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

• Markets company products and services to drive agency and company results.
• Underwrites a new and renewal surety book through direct contact with select agencies or brokers.
• Drives profit and premium to meet financial goals via development, negotiation and execution of business plans.
• Leads and influences agencies through sales strategies and processes that drive new sales and retention.
• Manages workflow and ensures service levels for complex underwriting tasks.
