Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Supply Chain Manager I to support the vision, direction, and day-to-day operations of the Supply Chain organization across multiple project sites. You will work closely with operations teams and suppliers to plan, coordinate, and execute procurement activities to meet project timelines.

This role requires a proactive leader with 10+ years of experience, strong negotiation and contracting skills, and the ability to drive sourcing strategies in a matrix organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, construction management or equivalent.
• 10+ years of experience in supply chain, procurement, or related roles.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.
• Knowledge of construction processes, equipment and materials, purchasing processes and procedures.
• Negotiating, organizing, planning, verbal and communication skills.
• Proven people leader with experience in hiring, coaching, and mentoring a team of professionals to anticipate needs and achieve short and long-term goals.
• Ability to lead initiatives and influence decisions in a matrix organization.
• Superior attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong customer service skills and a professional attitude.
• Active listening and effective communication with diverse input.

Responsibilities

• Manage supply chain operations and strategy to meet project timelines.
• Define and direct sourcing initiatives aligned with strategic plans.
• Negotiate and maintain contracts with key suppliers to ensure quality and cost competitiveness.
• Lead the buyer team and develop sourcing strategies across Mortenson projects.
• Provide executive reporting on supply chain health, risks, and mitigation strategies.
• Forecast demand and model capacity for effective procurement.
• Identify and mitigate supply risks related to sole-source dependencies and logistics.
