Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Project Buyer II to work with project teams and suppliers to procure materials, supplies, equipment and services. You will develop supplier relationships, solicit bids, and manage orders to support on-site projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of procurement experience.
• Knowledge of purchasing processes and construction materials.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work with diverse teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop relationships with suppliers, solicit bids, analyze quotations and select suppliers.
• Purchase items and services at favorable price while meeting quality and quantity specifications.
• Create and maintain catalogs for each operating group or project supported.
• Propose purchase transactions for higher approval and finalize actions.
• Arrange returns for unacceptable products to suppliers.
• Track order status from placement to delivery and communicate status to project teams.
• Enter purchase orders and maintain supplier contact to ensure on-time delivery.
• Train project teams to effectively use procurement systems.
• Build relationships across diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
