Job summary

Maker's Pride in Des Plaines, IL seeks a Senior Supply Chain Specialist to lead advanced planning, inventory control, and production scheduling across foods and packaging. You will optimize capacity, coordinate with customers and vendors, and drive continuous improvement.

The role requires strong leadership, SAP proficiency, and ERP experience, with focus on cost management and service targets. This is a full-time on-site role in Illinois.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent in education, certifications and experience.
• 4+ years of supply chain experience.
• Experience with direct contact to customer required.
• Progressive experience in food and/or packaging industry preferred.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite and SAP.
• Material handling and warehouse operations, including receiving and flow of materials.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Shipping, receiving, inventory control, purchasing and materials management principles are required.
• Strong leadership ability.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, analytical ability, leadership strength and ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Develops and adjusts production schedules based on forecasts and capacity.
• Manages materials planning and purchasing activities, including PO management.
• Focus on meeting customer service targets per contract CFR.
• Oversees inventory across its lifecycle, aging and disposition.
• Supports ERP setup and maintenance to ensure data integrity.
• Identifies opportunities to improve inventory levels and PO efficiency.
• Coordinates outbound shipments of finished goods and residuals.
• Maintains supply chain data and reporting for operations and customers.
• Manages material changes and transitions to minimize disruptions.
• Collaborates with directed-buy suppliers to address shortages and delays.
• Supports production-related billing and invoicing where applicable.
• Provides regular updates to customers on materials status and performance.
