Job summary

Labor Solutions, LLC is seeking an experienced Senior Buyer / Production Planner in Chicago to support purchasing, production planning, material availability, and inventory management. The role coordinates supplier commitments and production capacity to meet customer demand and ensure on-time delivery.

Key responsibilities include planning production based on demand and capacity, managing MRP to drive purchasing actions, and maintaining PO accuracy, supplier pricing and lead times.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of experience in purchasing, production planning, inventory control, or supply chain within manufacturing.
• Experience working with ERP and MRP systems.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in supply chain, operations, business, manufacturing, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan production based on customer demand, material availability, lead times, and capacity.
• Manage MRP activity and convert recommendations into purchasing actions.
• Create and maintain purchase orders, supplier pricing, and lead times.
• Monitor inventory levels and address shortages, excess, and obsolete materials.
• Expedite critical and past-due orders.
• Resolve supplier delivery, quality, and material availability issues.
• Maintain estimated ship dates and develop recovery plans for at-risk orders.
• Partner with Production, Sales, Engineering, Customer Service, Shipping, and Receiving.
• Identify opportunities to improve planning, purchasing, inventory control, and supplier performance.
